Performance coaching for Executives

Out of the self-optimisation trap and towards meaningful fulfilment

We live in a world where self-optimisation no longer only leads to success in competitive sport, but is also the means of choice for many in the race for external beauty, jobs, popularity and influence in the social environment. An entire trend has emerged. Where continuous improvement makes sense and has its home in organisations and society, it should remain and be valued. However, when it spills over and becomes a means of seeking recognition and love, it becomes a cause for concern. Psychological tensions and crises arise in the desperate struggle for more recognition. If this does not succeed, disappointment, depression and emptiness threaten. Nothing speaks against improving oneself, deepening knowledge and relationships.

Decoupling your own performance from good values and fulfilment of meaning is almost dangerous for mental health. Comprehensibility, manageability and fulfilment of meaning make you healthy and happy. Therefore, think more in terms of mental health pillars such as exercise, nutrition, mental hygiene through healthy emotions, sleep, meditation, grounding and connectedness in autonomy. Understood in this way, self-optimisation is a natural result of inner processes and does not confuse the means with the end. You may even now be able to sense your older and more meaningful self and sense what kind of natural energy, what your truer self actually wants to express and what performance in which life you desire.
